IFlyFirstClass Announces Top 5 Business Class lounges for 2018.(October 20, 2017)
CHICAGO (PRWEB) October 20, 2017
What Makes a Top-Level Business Lounge?
IFlyFirstClass' travel experts reviewed a variety of international airline lounges using a variety of criteria. Some of these criteria included the overall design of the space, diversity of dining options, availability of spaces for travelers of all ages and quality of provisions and services.
The Rankings Nos. 5 to 3: Singapore to Singapore
At No. 5, Singapore Airlines continues to be a consistent provider of excellent service and design, whether at the airport or on board. The airline's Changi Airport lounge in Singapore is a good example, offering a welcoming ambience and various dining options.
Similarly, Cathay Pacific's The Wing lounge at Hong Kong Airport remains a popular choice for travelers. The lounge offers a noodle bar, its renowned Long Bar, a Coffee Loft and appealing shower rooms.
While most airlines' best lounges are located in the airline's airport hub, there are a few airlines that do some of their best work away from home. That's true of Qantas and its Singapore Changi Airport lounge. It's actually a combination first and business class lounge, featuring a posh cocktail bar and a dining area inspired by Australian restaurateur Neil Perry. Whether travelers only have time to grab a quick snack or want to linger over a fine meal, the lounge satisfies.
Turkish Airlines Gives No. 1 Spot Some Healthy Competition
While it's now been open a few years, Turkish Airlines' Ataturk Airport business class lounge in Istanbul continues to improve. “The Istanbul lounge has everything we look for to accommodate travelers," Graft noted. “For dining, travelers can choose quick-service Turkish or Chinese food or a more refined restaurant experience. Those who want to blow off a little steam can practice their golf swings at the simulated putting range. Travelers who just want to sit back and relax can grab some movie theater-style popcorn and hole up in the cinema."
The Turkish Airlines lounge is an interesting network of smaller, inviting spaces, from a game area with a remote-control racetrack to a library. A toy-filled game area appeals to younger travelers, while well-appointed shower areas help travelers of all ages feel refreshed.
Qatar Airways' Al Mourjan Business Lounge is Tops
With its high-rated business cabins and responsive service, it's natural that Qatar Airways would operate one of the industry's top business class lounges. Located in Hamad International Airport, Qatar's Al Mourjan lounge is the ultimate in business-level retreats, according to IFlyFirstClass. The lounge is available to Qatar Airways' business passengers as well as OneWorld business and first class passengers. The company bills its lounge as five-star hotel quality with resort-style amenities. It's a large, airy multi-level space that's broken into more intimate and welcoming areas by interesting artwork, displays and partitions. In all, the lounge encompasses more than 107,000 square feet of relaxing, dining and business space.
The mezzanine level of the lounge features a delicatessen, a brasserie, a bakery, a bar and beverage service. These dining areas showcase a variety of cuisines, from Asian and Middle Eastern to European and North American. For those who can't leave business behind while traveling, the lounge offers conference rooms and a business center as well as plentiful spaces to sit privately with a laptop or mobile phone. Private workstations provide additional space, equipped with free WiFi and display monitors.
“The large lounge offers a little something to appeal to travelers from all walks of life and at all stages of life," Graft noted. “There's a game room where older kids can play video games and racing simulators. A family room provides younger tots a space to run off excess energy and prepare for the next leg of the flight. Adults find their own peace in the lounge's mostly private resting pods, where they can snooze in a lounge chair or watch television."
The wide range of services in a beautifully crafted space ensure that Qatar Airways' Al Mourjan lounge will rank among the world's best for many years to come.
