WeChat Open Class to debut live on Facebook and set tone for its 980-million-MAU ecosystem

GUANGZHOU, China, Jan. 12, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- WeChat, which is one of the popular application in China, and involves over 980 million monthly active users, will hold 2018 Wechat Open Class PRO in Guangzhou, China, The event aims to set tone for 2018 WeChat ecosystem and will be for the first time made available to international audience via live broadcast in English on Facebook.

With a tagline of TO BE, the event will highlight WeChat's latest development of the functions such as mini games and mobile payment in the area of mini programs and smart retail. The broadcast is scheduled to start at 9:00am (Beijing time)/9:00pm (US Eastern Standard Time) on Jan. 15, 2018 on Facebook official page.

From 2014, this year is its fourth installment. The WeChat Open Class PRO will continue to bring together every link of the WeChat, provide insights into how we can expect WeChat to evolve in the future and other development trends as well as into the dynamic features of WeChat.



This year's WeChat Open Class PRO consists of the forum and sub-forums these two parts. The forum, to be held in the morning, will focus on four topics: smart office, mini programs, smart retail and mini-games. The sub-forum, to be held in the afternoon, will be divided into 9 sessions that will run concurrently. Both the two sessions covering smart retail will be broadcast live on WeChat's official Facebook page.

WeChat will also discuss some outstanding external user cases in the sub-forum of smart retail. These are some of the interesting cases that will be covered in the sub-forum sessions:
