'U.S. News' Rates Swan Creek Retirement Village in America's Best(May 02, 2014)
Toledo, Ohio (PRWEB) May 02, 2014
Swan Creek's Health Care Center earned an overall five-star rating. It's the fifth year the center's health inspections, nurse staffing and quality of care has received the same top ranking.
The Health Care Center is part of Swan Creek Retirement Village, 5916 Cresthaven Ln., Toledo, Ohio, a community offering Lucas County's active seniors a variety of living options and services since 1989. Built on 34 wooded acres, Swan Creek offers independent and assisted living, rehabilitation and skilled nursing care, plus in-home care.
"U.S. News" ranked more than 16,000 nursing homes for the study; only 21 percent of Ohio's homes received the same five-star rating as the Health Care Center.
"This distinction, which we have received for the last five years, reaffirms the dedication to excellence from our entire team. We are committed to carrying out the mission of the organization on a daily basis, making a difference for each resident we serve," Executive Director Ann Roller says.
The "U.S. News" report shows Swan Creek's nurses and therapists spend 31 percent more time with each resident -- that's almost two more hours per person -- than the state average.

Swan Creek recently renovated its Memory Enhancement Center. The overall design of the space is cohesive and calming with soft patterns that add interest and layers for the feeling of home. Several interactive stations stimulate physical, social and mental well-being through music, games and gardening.
