Transfer Window could shape the long-term future of Manchester United

(PRWEB UK) 14 January 2014

The January transfer window could provide a last-chance-saloon for Manchester United to hunt down Spurs, Everton and Liverpool, say DSG, and qualify for the Champions League.

Over the New Year period Manchester United have seen the gap between them and fourth place widen further putting increasing pressure on David Moyes. DSG believe the situation can be rescued for United but they do need to strengthen the squad this January. DSG have one of the most active transfer rumour sections in football.co.uk with a more analytical and concise approach than seen on most sites and will be extending their coverage of the Manchester United situation.

Head of Operations at DSG, Matthew Tait had this to say: The big story of the 2013-2014 season has been the difficult transition of Ferguson and Moyes at United. The team have struggled to perform and this has been reflected in their league position. All is not lost however and we still have plenty of games ahead where United can start moving upwards and put pressure on Everton, Spurs and Liverpool for that fourth spot. They do need to spend in January though, that is for sure. Failing to do so, combined with the potential loss of Champions League football would certainly weaken the team longer term. At football.co.uk we have identified a number of players who United have been following that could transform the team and also their position in the Premier League.

Jason Hope, Content Manager of DSG believes that United need to make changes in January: The United team isnt a bad one, but there are too many areas now that have been exposed as requiring strengthening particularly with the retirement of Scholes and the injury of van Persie. The situation is unlikely to improve with the existing team and new talent is certainly required across positions. Of all the clubs in the Premier League the January transfer window is a critical one for Manchester United and we will be bringing you all the news, rumours, done deals as they happen. United can change their season but action in the transfer market cannot be delayed.
