Super Bowl Ticket Demand Trending up as NFL Playoff Tickets go Unsold

(PRWEB) January 03, 2014

The teams have yet to be decided but that hasnt stopped the demand for Super Bowl tickets to be at an all-time high for this years game at MetLife Stadium on Feb. 2nd. At the same time sports ticket brokers like Preferred Seating have seen a drop in interest in this years NFL Wild Card playoff games, most notably for the San Francisco 49ers vs. Green Bay Packers game at Lambeau Field this Sunday.

While the 2014 Super Bowl will be at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey the proximity to New York is helping fuel the interest in corporate orders for Super Bowl tickets at Ticket prices for the Super Bowl are currently starting at close to $2600 and up per seat on secondary ticket sites and that is up about $500 per ticket from last years matchup in New Orleans between the Baltimore Ravens and San Francisco 49ers. Many of the early requests for Super Bowl tickets have come from the New York and New Jersey areas but that will change once the teams are determined.

Super Bowl ticket prices could go up or down depending on the teams involved says Greg Cullen of Preferred Seating. A Broncos vs Seahawks Super Bowl ticket would likely keep prices on the high side. Fans in those cities are already paying the highest prices for playoff games and theyre both favored to reach the big game.

Its a little different story with some of the upcoming NFL playoff games. The Packers vs. 49ers matchup this Sunday should be the top draw of the Wild Card weekend games but the game hasnt even sold out at the box office and prices are lower than many of the regular season games this past year. The projected freezing temperatures may have some effect on ticket prices but many season ticket holders held off ordering them when Aaron Rogers was out for 8 games and the odds of reaching the playoffs was slim.

By the end of the day on Jan. 19th the AFC and NFC Championship games will be over and fans in both cities will begin the search for Super Bowl tickets, transportation and accommodations. The best advice from Preferred Seating for fans looking for cheap Super Bowl tickets is to start monitoring ticket prices now, and hope prices drop as tickets are released to corporate sponsors and teams not playing in this years Super Bowl.

Preferred Seating has been a place where fans have been able to buy guaranteed Super Bowl tickets since 1987 and has been a member of the Better Business Bureau since 1997. Preferred Seating is not associated with any team, venue or the NFL and buys and sells tickets on the secondary market through their website,
