Sledgehammer Games' Glen Schofield Named Speaker for Golden Gate University's Graduate Commencement Ceremony

113th Graduation Ceremony -- April 26 (April 09, 2014)

SAN FRANCISCO, CA -- (Marketwired) -- 04/09/14 -- Glen A. Schofield, CEO and co-founder of Sledgehammer Games, will be the speaker at Golden Gate University's commencement ceremony for students who've earned graduate degrees from the Braden School of Tax, Ageno School of Business and the School of Accounting. Schofield is a GGU alumnus, graduating with an MBA in 2002, and is the 2012 recipient of the Rising Star award, granted by the GGU Alumni Association to recent graduates who exhibit extraordinary professional achievements and contributions to the community.

Schofield -- who will receive an honorary degree at the event -- has been creating video games that have grossed more than $3 billion for more than 20 years. With his MBA from GGU, he says, "I went from running art teams to running a business that makes $200 to $300 million and more." He started his career as an artist and art director for Absolute Entertainment. Prior to starting Sledgehammer Games, Glen was the GM of Electronic Arts' Visceral Games Studio and was the creator and executive producer of the award-winning video game Dead Space. While at EA, Glen also produced Return of the King, James Bond, Dead Space: Extraction and Knockout Kings. Before joining EA, Glen was the VP of Eidos' Crystal Dynamics, where he directed games such as Gex 2, Gex 3 and Blood Omen 2.
