Sanchez's Job on the Line: 2013 Jets Tickets are Available Now at

New York, New York (PRWEB) July 14, 2013

Mark Sanchez may be parting ways with the New York Jets soon, but to save himself from doing so, he has one last chance in 2013. The veteran is going to have to fight for his position over 2013 NFL second round draft pick Geno Smith. In 2012, Sanchez did not play entirely up to his potential. He threw 13 TDs, but had 18 interceptions, fumbled 14 times, and was sacked 34 times. Consequently, Sanchez sat on the bench late in the season while Greg McElroy took over. Sanchez says he still loves this team, as he was drafted in 2009 as the fifth overall pick.

Although the Jets have not announced anything final yet, it seems that Sanchez has the edge over his competitors through mini camp and the Jets OTAs. Smith is a great player and a favorite to many, but he is still a rookie and still warming up to the NFL. It looks like Sanchez may very well have won his starting position, but be assured, if he does not play well, Smith will take over very quickly. The competition is supposed to last through two preseason games, where the quarterbacks will probably get equal playtime. The Jets may be hoping that Smith at least makes a good run at the job, so they know they drafted the right guy. Sanchez says he is the same player who led his team to the AFC championship games in 2009 and 2010, although critics have their doubts. For Sanchez, these first two pre-season games can be a career changer. If he does not win the starting spot, he may be finding himself playing for a different team in 2014. The Jets will get their season underway on August 9th against the Detroit Lions, a team they should destroy. The home season opener for the Jets will be played on August 17th against the Jacksonville Jaguars. The Jets preseason will then conclude on August 17th against the Eagles. This will be the thirteenth consecutive summer these two teams will meet for the preseason finale. To buy your Jets tickets, visit http://www.Jets-Tickets.org.
