  (February 05, 2013)

(PRWEB) February 05, 2013

There were a lot of question marks heading into the strike-shortened 2013 NHL season. However, the question of the best team in hockey has been answered quite quickly. The San Jose Sharks are 7-0-0 and the only NHL team yet to record any form of a loss. San Jose begins a six-game road stand Feb. 11 but first host the Chicago Blackhawks in one of hockeys top early season match-ups. Whiztix.com examines ticket prices for the showdown with Chicago as well as every other one of the Sharks home games.

Todd McLellans club finds themselves ranked second in the NHL in both goals per game (3.9) and goals against (1.7). Centers Joe Thorton and Patrick Marleau rank second in the league with 14 points apiece and goalie Antti Niemi leads the NHL with six wins.

Chicago, led by All-Star right-winger Patrick Kane, currently sits at 6-0-2 and are tied for first in the Western Conference with San Jose. They travel to San Jose February 5 for the first of three February contests between the two teams. Theyll meet again on the 15th and 22nd in Chicago, and Whiztix.com lists hundreds of tickets sill remaining for the potential playoff match-ups.

Upper-level Sharks tickets for the Feb. 5 meeting at HP Pavilion begin at $59 with average ticket prices hovering around $100. Similarly, tickets for both meetings at the United Center in Chicago begin at $55. Despite the hot start to the year, the Sharks have yet to see that success translate to increase in fan support. Consistently ranked as one of the lower franchises in terms of attendance, San Jose once again finds themselves in the bottom half of the NHL in total attendance.

Along with Chicago, the Sharks also welcome fellow Western Conference foes Detroit (Feb. 28) and St. Louis (Mar. 9) to the Pavilion in the next month. Tickets for these clashes can also be found on Whiztix.com for as low as $60 per ticket.
