SAE Institute Student Inks Recording Deal With Top EDM Label(February 15, 2013)
Los Angeles, CA (PRWEB) February 15, 2013
21 year-old SAE Institute student Philip Scully has signed a track by his group Charity Strike to Dim Mak Records, the label imprint of famed EDM DJ/producer Steve Aoki.
I need to pursue a career that I love, because I cant see myself doing it any other way, explains Scully. Music is my passion, and the success I'm having with Charity Strike wouldn't have been possible if I didnt choose to attend SAE.
Charity Strike is a DJ and production duo from Los Angeles comprised of Philip and Mike Lisanti, 24. The two men met while pursuing solo careers in Santa Barbara. They linked up to produce their own original tracks and remixes in the spring of 2012. Since then, Charity Strike has won the grand prize in an online remix contest for Dutch EDM DJ/producer Sander Van Doorns hit club song "Chasin", which was released on Doorn Records (Spinnin). The remix reached #14 on the Top 100 dubstep chart of Beatport.com, the world's largest DJ and electronic music community.
Along with their debut release for Dim Mak, Philip and Mike are writing, performing, and producing additional new tracks that fuse progressive and electronic house with elements of dubstep and other forms of EDM.
"My experience at SAE gave me valuable business, technical, and creative knowledge that enhances my performances as well as my studio work," says Scully, who completed a two-year Audio Technology Program (ATP) degree at SAE in only 9 months. "I'm looking forward to traveling the world with Charity Strike, and then bringing my skills to a long career as a professional audio engineer. It's going to be a great journey, and I'm ready to take it."
