Rowdy Rivalries Rally NHL Tickets on BuyAnySeat.com(May 03, 2014)
Denver, Colorado (PRWEB) May 03, 2014
What a wild night last Wednesday was. The NHLs first round of playoff action wrapped up with three Game 7s played on the same day for the first time since 2003 and just the fifth time ever. There were several hotly contested overtime games. There were a number of blown leads, incredible goals and an amazing 3-0 series reversal by the Los Angeles Kings.
In fact, the first round of the NHL playoffs was as exciting as anyone can remember in recent years. Games on NBC averaged 2.184 million viewers, up 39 percent from a year ago. Cable averaged 32 percent more viewers than last year, with an average of 518,000 viewers tuning in per game.
Perhaps the most exciting game of all, Minnesota's dramatic overtime win over the amazing Avalanche, drew a record 16.37 television rating on Fox Sports North. Minnesota has not had a professional team other than the NFLs Vikings advance in the playoffs since the Timberwolves did it in 2004.
Now, as if not to be outdone, the second round of the NHL playoffs got off to a intense start on Thursday night as the Boston Bruins overcame 2-0 and 3-2 deficits in the third period only to lose 4-3 on Montreal Canadiens defenseman P.K. Subban's power-play goal in the second overtime.
As the second round of the playoffs gets under way, were seeing a dramatic increase in sales for NHL tickets, including the Chicago Blackhawks, Boston Bruins, Anaheim Ducks, Pittsburgh Penguins, Minnesota Wild and other playoff contenders.
Thats why were proud to offer fans the most complete and continuously refreshed selection of sports tickets online, with a worry-free guarantee to protect their purchase, added Ault.

The Canadiens were the only Canadian team to earn a playoff spot in 2014, and they own more Stanley Cup banners than any other franchise. The Bruins meanwhile are cruising with expectations of reaching the Stanley Cup finals once again this year. Boston quickly caught a ride into the second round after finishing Number One overall in the Eastern Conference and beating the wild-card Red Wings in just five games.
Also in the East, the Pittsburgh Penguins will try to make it five for five in playoff match-ups against the New York Rangers. Pittsburgh is seeking to restore their championship sheen after a number of disappointing tries following their championship in 2009. The Rangers continue to wrangle for the right recipe to return to the Stanley Cup finals where they have not been since winning it all in 1994.
On the other side of the bracket, the Blackhawks and Wild meet for the second consecutive time in the postseason. Last year Chicago easily handled their northern counterparts taking the series in five games on their way to a Stanley Cup. The storied Blackhawks have 41 playoff wins in the last four years. The Wild have just eight playoff wins over the past decade.
Meanwhile, on the West Coast, the first-ever playoff series between the Kings and Ducks is getting underway. The two teams have never played in the postseason though their arenas are separated by fewer than 35 miles on the freeway. Los Angeles rallied for a spot in the second round by becoming just the fourth team in league history to come back from a 3-0 series deficit, nabbing a 5-1 victory against the San Jose Sharks in Game 7 of their first round series.
