Right To Play Launches Global Campaign: #RTPNation Campaign Unites 300 Olympians and Athletes Who Believe in the Power of Sport and Play(February 03, 2014)
NEW YORK, NY--(Marketwired - February 03, 2014) - Right To Play, a global organization that uses sport and play to educate and empower children and youth to overcome the effects of poverty, conflict, and disease in disadvantaged communities has launched a campaign with the support of more than 300 Athlete Ambassadors to raise awareness about Right To Play, unite a global community and celebrate the positive impact that sport and play can have on children's lives.
Led by Founder, President and CEO Johann Koss and supported by an international team of more than 300 sporting and Olympic legends, one million children and thousands of volunteer Coaches who lead play-based educational programs in more than 20 countries worldwide, the #RTPNation is a global online community of supporters who believe that play can transform a child's life.
"The campaign is not only a great way to raise awareness about the important work Right To Play is doing around the world," said 5-time Olympic gold medalist in speedskating Bonnie Blair, "but also a fun way for athletes from different countries to feel connected to each other as we celebrate the Games in Sochi."
The 2014 Sochi Winter Olympic Games mark the 20th anniversary of Johann Koss' historic gold medal wins at the 1994 Lillehammer Winter Olympic Games in Norway. His experiences leading up to the Games sparked in him the desire to do more for children around the world.In Lillehammer, Koss donated his Olympic bonus money to Olympic Aid, which marked the beginning of a movement that would become Right To Play.

More than 60 international Right To Play Athlete Ambassadors have qualified to compete in Sochi.
