Playoff Stakes Stoke NHL Tickets on BuyAnySeat.com

Denver, Colorado (PRWEB) March 24, 2014

Fortunately, the weather is warming up around the country. Not only is it Spring Break for scores of students nationwide, March Madness is also breaking out on both the ice and the hardwood.

In fact, insanity has already hit on the court with a terrifying tally of top NCAA teams tanking and getting bounced out of the Final Four. Meanwhile at the rink, less than 15 games remain in the 82-game NHL regular season and playoff races are heating up right along with the temps.

Several squads are in the hunt for the eighth seeds in the East and West, while top teams are shooting for home ice.

Currently in the East, the Boston Bruins and Pittsburgh Penguins are in control as the top two seeds. The Bruins, now at 49-17-5, have won 12 in a row for their third longest winning streak in franchise history. They have also been on fire against the West this season at 16-4-4.

The Penguins are 46-19-5, having gone 6-3-1 in their last 10 games, but they will be tested this week as they take on the West-leading Blues. St Louis, now two in the power rankings, were just shutout 4-0 by the Blackhawks and lost 4-1 to the Flyers on Saturday. Both teams need a win.

While todays top selling sports tickets are a mix of the Harlem Globetrotters, Monster Jam, PBR rodeo, WWE, NBA Basketball and MLB Baseball were seeing a dramatic increase in sales for NHL tickets, especially for the Colorado Avalanche, Boston Bruins, St. Louis Blues, San Jose Sharks, Anaheim Ducks, Pittsburgh Penguins and other playoff contenders, said Marta Ault at online ticket marketplace BuyAnySeat.com.

Thats why were proud to offer sports fans the most comprehensive and continuously updated selection of sports tickets online, with a worry-free guarantee to protect their purchase, added Ault.

At three in the current power rankings, the surging San Jose Sharks are now 46-18-8 and have overtaken the Ducks in the Pacific Division and are one point behind the Blues for top spot in the West. The Sharks will snag a playoff spot with their next victory. The sinking Anaheim Ducks at 45-18-7 are 4-4-2 in their last ten games and have sunk to third in the Western Conference with twelve games to play.

The remaining teams in this weeks power rankings include the Chicago Blackhawks at 41-15-15 who are in a fight for home ice advantage with the seventh ranked Colorado Avalanche, now 44-21-6: The Avs are 4-1-0 against the Blackhawks this season, but currently trail the Blackhawks by three points with eleven games to play.

Ranked eight, the Tampa Bay Lightning now stand at 39-24-8, who are 5-2-3 in their last ten games. Next are the Toronto Maple Leafs with a 36-28-8 record who are dealing with goalie issues. The Montreal Canadians round out the top ten at 39-26-7. They are slated to take on Tampa Bay in the first round of the playoffs.

With the realignment of divisions this year, instead of 15 teams in each conference, there are now 16 teams in the East and 14 in the West that are grouped into four divisions: Atlantic, Metropolitan, Central and Pacific. The top three teams in each division automatically qualify, accounting for 12 of the league's 16 playoff berths.

The final four spots, two per conference, go to the teams with the highest point totals who finish outside of their division's top three. These are the wild cards. This format allows for the possibility that any given division could send as few as three teams to the playoffs, and as many as five.

Other key matchups this week include the Blackhawks versus the Bruins Thursday night in Boston, while the San Jose Sharks head to Colorado to play the Avs on Saturday afternoon.
