Panelists to Explore Smart Device Impact on the TV Industry at US FPD Smart Devices Conference

Santa Clara, California (PRWEB) March 11, 2013

NPD DisplaySearch today announced a new format and location for the 2013 US FPD Smart Devices conference. This years conference will feature keynotes and presentations by NPD DisplaySearch analysts followed by panel discussions with prominent industry leaders. Focus will be on the future of the display market as the TV industry reaches a crossroads and new devices threaten traditional business models. The conference, now in its 15th year, will be held March 18-19 at the Fairmont San Jose in the heart of Silicon Valley.

Key industry participants, including AT&T, Boxee TV, Corning, Google, Gracenote, LG, MobiTV, Panasonic, Qualcomm, Roku, Rovi, Samsung, Sharp, Vizio, and Walmart.com, will take part in the conference and explore the new direction that TV and other smart device industries are taking as they infiltrate the TV landscape.

As we enter into the multi-screen era, new factors will drive content. Connectivity and usage are going to dictate device form factors and product designs, and ultimately impact the entire value chain, said Paul Semenza, Senior Vice President, NPD DisplaySearch. Our conference presenters will explore everything from how the supply chain is reacting to the rise of smart devices to how smart TV can remain relevant as smaller screens become more prevalent. We will also explore consumer usage of these technologies and ways the industry can deliver real value to their users.

The US FPD Smart Devices conference provides attendees with valuable information and industry insight, as well as great opportunities for networking and hearing different perspectives that can benefit future business strategies. Conference attendees will also have the opportunity to schedule one-on-one meetings with NPD DisplaySearch analysts.

Panel sessions at the US FPD Smart Devices conference will include:

  • A View from the Supply Chain
  • Managing Innovation to Deliver Value in the Right Place
