Orchestrate Selected by Rovio for Rapid Application Feature Development

(March 25, 2014)

PORTLAND, OR, March 25, 2014 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Orchestrate (, the only data API to
offer the best of NoSQL in a developer-friendly service,  has
been enlisted by Rovio Entertainment Ltd, the maker of Angry Birds,
to rapidly add new features to its mobile games platform. In its
first integration, Orchestrate allowed Rovio to easily prototype a
critical new search feature within hours without having to
provision a new database.

According to
451 Research
, database-as-a-service (DBaaS) adoption in
enterprise IT will grow significantly over the next two years, at a
CAGR of 86%, to $1.8B by 2016, and will further drive the growth of
NoSQL database revenue. Finland-based Rovio has been an early
champion for NoSQL and cloud computing. In order to support rapid
prototyping and development, Rovio chose Orchestrate' DBaaS for its
flexible, easy-to-use data model and simple integration into its
existing cloud stack.

"Orchestrate's solution made it possible to prototype new ideas
and features in record time, for example allowing for quick
searches over Rovio Accounts user names for blacklisted terms such
as obscenities and trademarks," said Juhani Honkala, SVP, Head of
Skynest at Rovio. "New services like Orchestrate can drastically
change enterprise infrastructure by removing unnecessary barriers
to product development, and opening new possibilities in app
functionality by freeing data from their respective silos."

"Rovio has been a pioneer in enterprise cloud adoption since day
one, and has a long track record of embracing cutting edge
technologies," said Antony Falco, CEO and Co-Founder of
Orchestrate. "Rovio is a great example of how enterprise IT can
benefit from Orchestrate's service and easily integrate our API
with the rest of their stack."

Orchestrate empowers developers to store and query full-text
search, graph, event and key/value application data without the
cost and complexity of running NoSQL databases themselves, so they
can focus on features and usability instead. It's free to use for
up to one million operations per month (MOps). To learn more, or to
