New Jersey's Eagles Landing Day Camp Prepares for the State's Largest Gathering of Gifted Parents and Professionals

Fanwood, NJ (PRWEB) August 11, 2014

Gifted organizations and programs throughout New Jersey will join together for the NJ Gifted Resources Seminar and Pool Party at Eagles Landing Day Camp in North Brunswick, New Jersey. Participating organizations include the New Jersey Association for Gifted Children (NJAGC), Ivy Educational Services FlexSchool, the Gifted Homeschoolers Forum, Hoagies Gifted, TCNJs Center for Excellence in STEM Education and HEROES Academy for the Gifted. This will be the largest gathering of gifted parents and professionals in New Jersey.

We have had up to 700 people at past resources seminars. This year we expect an even larger turn out, HEROES Academy Founder Rita Voit says.

Attendees will learn about weekend enrichment programs, social programs, opportunities for homeschooling, advocacy, emotional support, and grade acceleration. Students will enjoy a day of fun, taking advantage of the pools, splash park, sports fields, organized games, science fair and more.

Gifted students need access to the right resources just as students who have learning challenges do, Ivy Educational Services Partner Jacqueline Byrne says. This one-day event will provide parents, students and educators with information on programming and services available for gifted students in New Jersey.

The seminar will provide presentations from Carolyn Kottmeyer (Founder, Hoagies Gifted), Nathan Levy (President, NJAGC), Michael Goeller (Associate Director, Rutgers Writing Program), Chris Anderson (Director, TCNJs Center for Excellence in STEM Education)and Rita Voit (Founder, HEROES Academy).

Parent Barbara Pulliam expresses the necessity for this program: It can be very lonely at times being the parent of an exceptionally gifted child. Having a non-competitive and supportive community of parents and educators is priceless.

Participating organizations and directors seek to provide solutions, resources and unity among the gifted community.

It is my hope that this event will be a catalyst to create a dynamic community of educators, parents and businesses working together to serve NJs gifted students, HEROES Academy founder Rita Voit says.
