NTC Embraces Employee Feedback, Receives Recognition on Tampa Bay Times 2014 Top Workplaces List

Palm Harbor, FL (PRWEB) September 02, 2014

NTC (Nationwide Title Clearing, Inc.), a leading research and document-processing provider for the mortgage and financial industry, has received recognition in its industry for its outstanding work environment after being selected as one of the Tampa Bay Times Top Workplaces. The Tampa Bay Times Top Workplaces list, which is determined based solely on employee feedback, is notable for its ability to assist companies in understanding the inner workings of the minds of their employees. NTC executives reflected upon its company culture and how to improve upon it, resulting in a renewed atmosphere which thrives on employee recognition.

The Tampa Bay Times Top Workplaces list is unique, in that winning companies are selected by virtue of employee support. Team members complete a questionnaire, and the results are analyzed by an independent third party and reported to the Tampa Bay Times, as well as to the company. Companies are then ranked according to their overall score. In response to the NTCs rapid expansion, which resulted in increased demand for services and pressure upon employees to meet rising expectations, the companys executives sought out employee observations in an effort to create a balanced atmosphere that recognizes each employees contribution to NTCs expansion.

NTC officials, who view employee feedback as encouragement for positive change, considered the employees evaluations and recently took the appropriate steps to build a better workplace. NTC launched an internal campaign designed to boost employee morale, while also improving company benefits and educating employees about all the benefits offered. In addition to offering a 401k with company matching contributions, NTC also instituted several employee recognition initiatives, including:

    Longevity pins, which are awarded on the annual work anniversary for each employee, are presented in front of the whole company; for key longevity benchmarks, such as five, 10 or 15 years, employees are presented with a trophy;
    An instant recognition program in which custom items such as notepads or pins with encouraging messages are placed by managers, team leaders and directors on employees desks for a job well done on an hourly/daily basis;
    Monthly certificate awards for employee of the month, and a volunteer program which allows employees to participate in community-focused initiatives they feel strongly about;
    Weekly production games to win company-sponsored treats or lunch; and
    Monthly games for larger prizes, such as movie tickets for each employee and paid days off.

NTC CEO John Hillman says that the companys aim is to retain employees and provide them with opportunities to advance within the company. Additionally, NTC strives to create a favorable work environment by providing team members with ongoing training, support and recognition from executive leaders, and by encouraging community service, per Hillman.

Every employee is an essential part of our processes, and the overall contribution from each employee is what it takes to reach our goal, said Hillman. We work hard to ensure that each employee is rewarded for that effort and that no one goes unnoticed.

For businesses looking to improve their employee morale, contributions or overall company culture, Hillman suggests establishing an open-door policy that encourages feedback from employees and assists in resolving any difficulties or roadblocks that may arise.

If you feel that your employees are down, talk to them about why they do what they do, said Hillman. Taking time to reaffirm the purposes of their positionsand thanking them for fulfilling those purposeshelps your employees feel needed and appreciated.

NTC officials plan to maintain the companys current momentum by regularly surveying employees to find out what volunteer opportunities they are interested in, what they like about the community events that NTC holds, and suggestions for future improvements.

NTC, perhaps best known for its expertise in extensive research and document-processing services such as lien release processing, is an advocate for best practices that standardize the mortgage industry for the betterment of homeowners, land records and the industry at large.

In addition to making the 2014 Top Workplaces List, NTC recently also placed number 2,097 on the Inc. 5000 list among mid-sized companies, marking the companys third consecutive year on the list.
