Denver, Colorado (PRWEB) May 01, 2014

The Washington Wizards and Miami Heat secured a spot in the next round after surging to series victories earlier this week. John Wall and the Wizards tamed the Bulls 75-69 in Chicago on Tuesday night, taking the series four games to one. Wall scored a game-high 24 points to lead the Wizards into the second round for the first time since 2005.

The Heat took Game Four by 109-98 over the Charlotte Bobcats Monday night to sweep their series and secure a place in the upcoming round before any other team. Lebron James scored 19 of his game-high 31 in the second half despite sustaining a thigh bruise early in the third quarter.

The Memphis Grizzlies moved to within one game of a second round berth after earning a tough 100-99 road victory in Oklahoma City Tuesday night. The Number Seven seed Grizzlies have clawed to a 3-2 lead over the Thunder in the thrilling Western Conference matchup.

The second seeded Thunder, one of the league's most potent offensive teams during the 82-game regular season, have shot below 40 percent in four of their five Playoff games thus far. Kevin Durant scored 26 points on just 10-for-24 shooting, and missed a key free throw that would have tied the game at 100 in the closing minute of overtime.

As NBA Playoff action begins to move into the second round, were seeing a dramatic increase in sales for tickets, especially for the Washington Wizards, Miami Heat, Memphis Grizzlies, Oklahoma City Thunder, LA Clippers and other championship contenders, said Marta Ault at online ticket marketplace BuyAnySeat.com.

Thats why were proud to offer fans the most complete and continuously refreshed selection of tickets online, with a worry-free guarantee to protect their purchase, added Ault.

The LA Clippers moved ahead three games to two over the Golden State Warriors in what has been an emotional series thus far. The Clippers' rousing victory at the Staples Center in Los Angeles Tuesday night came just hours after NBA commissioner Adam Silver banned their owner, Donald Sterling, for life. The league fined him $2.5 million and Silver called on the rest of the NBA owners to force him to sell the team for racist comments he admitting to making that surfaced late last week.

Sterling was not at the Staples Center to witness the 113-103 victory over the Golden State Warriors on Tuesday, and he is not allowed to attend future games. DeAndre Jordan led the Clippers in points with 25, a playoff career high, to go along with 18 rebounds. Klay Thompson led the Warriors with 21 points. David Lee and Andre Iguodala scored 18 apiece while star Stephen Curry had just 17.

The 2014 NBA playoffs tipped off on April 19, and will run until mid- to late June with the conclusion of the 2014 NBA Finals. The Finals are currently set to begin on Thursday, June 5, 2014.

The Eastern Conference/Division leads the Western Conference/Division in series won (3729). The defunct Central Division won one championship. The Boston Celtics and the Minneapolis / Los Angeles Lakers own almost half of the titles, having won a combined 33 of 67 championships. The two-time defending champion Miami Heat lost in the Finals to the Dallas Mavericks in 2011 and defeated the Oklahoma City Thunder in 2012 and San Antonio Spurs in 2013.

The Grizzlies, Clippers and Hawks will attempt to close out their series tonight with both Memphis and Atlanta playing at home. The Number One and Two seeded Pacers and Thunder will attempt to avoid series upsets and force Game Seven on Saturday. Meanwhile, the Warriors will try to rebound against the Clippers in Los Angeles as they vie for a first-round comeback. Results for last nights game were unavailable at press time.
