(February 08, 2013)ABUJA, Nigeria (PRWEB) February 08, 2013
Introducing Okuku Udo Akpabio, the great colonial African ruler who led the way for the Akwa Ibom State in Nigeria during a time of great change: the brink of westernization.
Offonbuk Akpabio, married to grandson of the great Okuku Udo Akpabio, brings the legend and great achievements of this influential leader to the public in her new historical nonfiction, He Dared: The Story of Okuku Udo Akpabio, The Great Colonial African Ruler.
My book provides inspiration for all to dream, dare and believe, Offonbuk says. Okuku Udo Akpabio was a traditionalist with a vision who took action during a time of great social and economic change in Nigeria.
Through her new book, Offonbuk highlights Okuku Udo Akpabios inspiring achievements as public leader, including building the bridge between the British and the indigenous people of Nigeria and bringing together two major indigenous tribes in Akwa Ibom State, demonstrating the need for unity in other parts of the world today.
Offonbuk has one ultimate goal by sharing her new book: to educate readers on this part of Nigerian history and to demonstrate the importance of tolerance and daring to dream.
He Dared tells the story of a man who dared where others dread, Offonbuk says. He moved past frontiers seen at the time and embraced new horizons that have left a truly compelling legacy.
