IEEE GLOBECOM 2013 Initiates “Call for Papers” for Leading International Communications Conference to be held December 9 – 13 in Atlanta, Georgia

New York, NY, February 06, 2013 --(PR.com)-- IEEE GLOBECOM 2013, the premier international event dedicated to driving innovations and technological breakthroughs in nearly every telecommunications field, has initiated the “Call for Papers” for its 56th annual conference to be held from December 9 – 13, 2013 at the Atlanta Hilton and Towers in Atlanta, Georgia. Detailed submission guidelines for presentations highlighting the latest advancements in broadband, wireless, multimedia, data, image and voice communications can be found at www.ieee-globecom.org/2013. All interested parties are urged to submit their proposals for speaking consideration within the event’s comprehensive Industry Forum, tutorial and technical programs by March 15, 2013.



“IEEE GLOBECOM annually hosts hundreds of high-level executive business and technical forums exploring topics ranging from 4G wireless communications, global multimedia and social networking to smart grid communication strategies, wireless vehicle networking, and energy-efficient computing,” says Branko Bjelajac, IEEE GLOBECOM 2013 General Chair and CTO for Landis+Gyr. “In addition, the organizing committee of each IEEE GLOBECOM is continually focused on eclipsing the extremely high-standard of technical and informational learning provided by the previous year’s conference. As a result, we invite the entire industry to join us at IEEE GLOBECOM 2013 and help launch a new world of advancements that will ultimately enrich the business and personal lives of billions of individuals worldwide.”


Currently under development, IEEE GLOBECOM 2013 will include more than 1,500 presentations consisting of dozens of workshops and tutorials, a full agenda of keynotes and executive panels, and numerous demonstrations and poster sessions. For instance, the Industry Forum is designed to promote the “Works in Progress” related to regulatory impact assessment, design and development strategies and the efforts to overcome present networking and communications environment challenges. Specific areas to be addressed include:
-Protocols & Standards
-Human Factors in Communications
-Business & Communications
-Emerging Applications
-Advanced Networking
-Policy & Spectrum

In addition, the conference’s comprehensive technical agenda, which will proceed from Tuesday, December 10 through Thursday, December 12, will offer hundreds of academics and industry professionals the opportunity to present the latest original research and scientific findings in areas such as e-Health, Internet of Things (IoT), game theory, power-line, satellite and space, green and social networking and communications. This includes a particular emphasis on:
-Ad Hoc and Sensor Networking
-Cognitive Radio & Networks
-Communication & Information System Security
-Communications QoS, Reliability and Modeling
-Communication Software, Services and Multimedia Applications
-Communication Theory
-Next Generation Networking

IEEE GLOBECOM 2013 will also devote two complete days to workshops and tutorials. In the past, these have included both full and half-day sessions offering the newest insights into topics like “Digital Games for ‘People’ Networking – Challenges & Opportunities,” “Small Cell and Heterogeneous Network (HetNet) Deployment,” “Programmable Cloud Computing and Networking,” “Software Testing in the Network Environment,” “M2M in Smart Grid & Smart Cities: Technologies, Standards, and Applications” and “Resource Management in Mobile Cloud Computing.”
