Disco Bees Becomes Fastest Growing Android Game

New York City (PRWEB) April 09, 2014

Disco Bees, the match-three hexagonal puzzle game from the indie development team, Space Inch LLC, beecame the fastest growing game on Android today, as its hive grew to more than 250,000 users in only one week. This announcement comes on the heels of reaching 1 million iOS downloads in only five months, making it one of the most popular games on both platforms.

The creators attribute the success of Disco Bees to its aesthetics, music, easy-to-pick-up game play most importantly, the hexagonal design of the board(s). The unique design of the board challenges users more than the typical rectangular patterned match games, allowing moves in six directions versus the typical four.

People love everything about the Disco Bees mental life. Theres a sort of mental respect for the hex, said says Ari Kardasis, one of Space Inchs lead coders and hex guru. We get so many people who say You have to make more levels because I can never go back. No one gets serious about Disco Bees and says, you know, Id rather go back to the square grid. The square grid just ceases to be as interesting.

As a result, Disco Bees in-app playtime is comparable to the likes of Flappy Birds and Candy Crush, with 130,000 active daily users buzzing with anticipation for large blocks of time.

Make sure you have nothing important planned for the next hour. Once you start playing, the time flies fast - totally addictive, said user William Pollock in his Google Play review.

The premise of Disco Bees is simple: swap colored bumblebees on a hexagonal grid to match three or more in order to save the hive! Collect honey and move pollen to continue the circle of bee life, duh. Plus, users can look forward to the beedazzling puns and animated waggle dancing after completing each of the 159 levels in nine worlds.

Disco Bees is available now on Google Play and the iTunes app store for free.
