Dallas, TX (PRWEB) August 07, 2014
Ticket Down is a reputable source for cheap Dallas Cowboys vs. San Francisco 49ers tickets at the AT&T Stadium where these two powerhouse NFL teams will revive their rivalry on September 7th. The opening week of the National Football League season always brings out intrigue and excitement for the following 16 weeks on the calendar. The winners and losers of the week one matchups wont decide who will be playing in the Super Bowl, but they are a great way to get out to a solid start. In a weekend where Green Bay plays Seattle, Atlanta plays New Orleans, Indianapolis takes on Denver and Detroit takes on the Giants, the toughest game of the week is the 4:25 p.m. game from AT&T Stadium in Dallas, Texas, between the Dallas Cowboys and San Francisco 49ers.
A year ago, the Cowboys finished 8-8 for the third consecutive season, all of which have come with Jason Garrett as head coach. The team finished second in the NFC East, but still had plenty of players excel including Dez Bryant, Jason Hatcher, DeMarco Murray, Tyron Smith, and Jason Witten, all of whom earned a spot on the NFC Pro Bowl roster.
Offensively, the Cowboys were led by quarterback Tony Romo, who had one of his best statistical seasons ever with 3,828 yards, 31 touchdowns and just 10 interceptions. Leading the charge in the rushing attack was Murray, who had 217 touches for 1,121 yards and 9 touchdowns, and also added 53 receptions for 350 yards and 1 touchdown. Romo had two solid targets throughout the season in Bryant and Witten. Bryant made 93 catches for 1,233 yards and 13 touchdowns, while the future Hall of Fame tight end added 73 receptions for 851 yards and 8 touchdowns.
The San Francisco 49ers also finished second in their division, going 12-4 in the NFC West. The team was hoping to reach the Super Bowl for the second straight season, but was unable to through to the title game. During the season, the 49ers were one of the most consistent in the league and 10 of their players earned a spot in the Pro Bowl including Frank Gore, Vernon Davis, Joe Staley, Mike Iupati, Justin Smith, Ahmad Brooks, NaVorro Bowman, Patrick Willis, Donte Whitner, and Eric Reid.
Colin Kaepernick started all 16 games a year ago for the 49ers and showed incredible growth throughout the season. He threw for 3,197 yards with 21 touchdowns and 8 interceptions, while also adding 524 yards and 4 touchdowns on the ground. Gore continued his incredible career with another 1,000 yard rushing performance and scored 9 touchdowns. Kaepernicks biggest and best receiving target a year ago was Anquan Boldin, who had 85 catches for 1,179 yards and 7 touchdowns.
AT&T Stadium is a 105,121 seat venue that was opened in 2009 after billions of dollars were spent. The Cowboys have called the venue home ever since, as has the NCAA Cotton Bowl Classic. In 2016, World Wrestling Entertainment will present WrestleMania XXXII and the stadium has also hosted numerous other events including the boxing super fight between Manny Pacquiao and Joshua Clottey and the 2010 NBA All Star Game.
