GRAND JUNCTION, COLO. (PRWEB) February 21, 2013
Its not too late to plan a Colorado ski vacation, according to one travel and tourism expert in the state and to do so without breaking the bank. Spring is the ideal time to ski, bike and golf; all in the same weekend in Grand Junction - Colorados Wine Country.
The key is to head west, says Mistalynn Meyeraan, marketing and public relations coordinator for the Grand Junction Visitor & Convention Bureau in western Colorado. The Visitor & Convention Bureau, working with Powderhorn Mountain Resort, is making it easier than ever to take an affordable Colorado ski vacation this winter or spring with 2013 Ski, Stay & Play packages. Packages including overnight hotel accommodations and lift tickets start at $76 per person per night. There is also a package with a stay at an RV park for only $68.50 per person per night with lift tickets included. The package even offers guests a discounted rate in golfing and bike rentals in the area.
Powderhorn Mountain Resort is a small, personal Colorado ski resort receiving an average of 250 inches of snow each season. Perched above the valley on the Grand Mesa, the mountain offers 63 trails at beginner, intermediate and advanced/expert levels, a vertical drop of 1,650 feet, three terrain parks and a tubing hill. With a base elevation of 8,200 feet, Powderhorn is just a 40-minute drive from the City of Grand Junction. In 2013, Powderhorn has been receiving ample amounts of powder for snow seekers. Back down in the Grand Valley, at an altitude of 4,586 feet, Grand Junctions moderate weather allows for year-round golf, hiking and biking.
Between Feb. 9 and March 31, travelers can select packages with one of 11 lodging properties. Prices are per person, based on a one-night stay, double occupancy and availability. Included in the price is one adult lift ticket, but does not include taxes.
