Bijoux Benie, or Blessed Jewels, was started by two driven teenage sisters named Rebecca and Malaika Koshy of San Jose, California. Even at 17 and 13, these girls felt they could create a company to help and empower women all over the world.

They began designing jewelry with the help of their mother and sharing the profits with charities dedicated to empowering women with education in nations where the jewelry is made. Today, Bijoux Benie is still designed by its young founders, and all production and creation of the jewelry is done by women being paid a fair wage.
