Casual Games Marry eCards for Valentine's DayGreetingGames.com Launches New Concept -- Valentine's Day Greeting Games (February 04, 2014)
ROTTERDAM, THE NETHERLANDS and SEATTLE, WA -- (Marketwired) -- 02/04/14 -- Tingly Games, founded by veterans in the game industry, is launching its brand new consumer service, Greeting Games, in time for Valentine's Day. Pairing casual games with eCards, greetinggames.com, gives senders and receivers a new way to communicate their love and affection with tailored casual games and in-game messages.
Senders can personalize their Valentine's Day greeting game by selecting from a choice of 25 different game style combinations. They can also add special comments at the end of each level, set the ease or difficulty of a game, include their Facebook avatar, and more. Valentine's Day is the second most popular occasion for sending greeting cards just after Christmas, according to the Greeting Card Association.
Managing director of the Casual Games Association (CGA), Jessica Tams, said, "Combining casual games with eCards is a creative endeavor, especially because games have increasingly become a normal activity in people's daily lives. In fact next week's Casual Connect event in Amsterdam will highlight a growing number of companies in the casual games space showcasing talents in business, technology and art. We're looking forward to seeing the industry to continue to broaden its scope just as Tingly Games is doing."
Ard Bonewald, CEO of Tingly Games, the parent company of Greeting Games, said, "Even five years ago, we wouldn't have guessed that so many people of all ages would increasingly enjoy casual games. From grandmothers to children, 700 million people are now playing. Marrying games with Valentine's Day greetings gives people a whole new way to express themselves and truly engage with their family and friends for the holiday."
In a unique twist, the site even allows senders who are secretly smitten with someone else to share a Valentine's Day greeting game anonymously. In coming months, additional features will be added to the site so the receiver can reply to anonymous greetings in order to spark conversation.
The site, which works seamlessly on all devices from tablets to PCs and smartphones, also has greeting games for numerous other occasions including birthdays and "just for fun." Currently the game styles include Mahjong, Sudoku, match-three, slicers, bubble shooters and jigsaw puzzle style games. Many new greeting occasions, games and features will be added in the coming months.
Currently the new service is offering unlimited greetings for free. After February 11, individuals will be able to send up to two greeting games for free. They can then set up a subscription for as low as $1.69 per month within US and Canada and EUR 1.69 in Europe.
