Big Nerd Ranch Debuts its HTML5 Apps with jQuery Course

Big Nerd Ranch is applying its immersive learning approach to HTML5, introducing its HTML5 Apps with jQuery course. The five-day HTML5 bootcamp will be available at both the Atlanta-area and Netherlands Ranch locations.

With the rise of the mobile web, developers can use JavaScript and HTML5 to bring apps to anyone, anywhere in the world, regardless of which device they're using.

Students will learn the fundamentals of JavaScript and how browsers interpret code. After they build a foundation of how browsers work and how to interact with them using JavaScript, attendees will build upon their knowledge by learning the basics of jQuery, HTML5 APIs and application architecture.

The class is geared toward those who want to learn more about front-end web programming, particularly experienced developers with little exposure to JavaScript or client-side development.

Front-end development can be challenging because there are so many frameworks to choose from, says instructor Chris Aquino, lead software engineer at Big Nerd Ranch. This course teaches web development from the ground up. Students will be able to choose which framework theyd like to use, if any, and theyll be able to test, debug and maintain their code effectively. The class is especially relevant for developers with server-side programming experience and for designers with strong technical ability.

The class begins Feb. 18 at Big Nerd Ranchs Atlanta-area Ranch, and March 18 through Big Nerd Ranch Europe in The Netherlands.
