The game is set for a 5:30 p.m. CDT kick-off on Feb. 3. It will be played at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome in New Orleans. The Tulane Green Wave and the New Orleans Privateers sponsor various athletics teams at the NCAA Division I level. Tulanes football team plays home games at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome until an on-campus stadium opens. That is expected to occur in 2014.

In addition to playing host to this game on six previous occasions, the Mercedes-Benz Superdome has played host to the BCS National Championship Game four times. The Sugar Bowl has been played here on an annual basis since December 1975. The New Orleans Bowl has taken place in this domed stadium since its inaugural contest was played in December 2001. The NCAA Final Four has also been played here five times, including in 2012.
