Ama Foundation Now Raising Funds Through Unique Partnership With Kaydas

  (February 21, 2013)

Beaverton, OR (PRWEB) February 21, 2013

As a charter member in the Kaydas Fundraising Program for Non-Profit Organizations, Ama Foundation is now leveraging this new channel to raise funds to support its mission to provide educational, economical and social improvements for the underprivileged children of Nepal. As a partner in the Kaydas Fundraising Program, Ama Foundation has been provided a proprietary online web portal, where supporters of the organization can specify and buy any of the Kaydas ultra-low-energy, long-life LED light bulbs. In turn, Kaydas is donating seven percent of the proceeds from these sales directly to Ama Foundation. Ama Foundation supporters can access the purchasing portal at http://www.kaydas.com/ama_foundation.

The Ama Foundation was created to provide a home, a family environment and education for the most underprivileged children of Nepal, with the expressed goal of enhancing their growth, development and sense of community. In addition to the housing and education that stems from its Ama Ghar house in Godavari, Nepal, Ama Foundation is investing in the future of Nepal by educating the mothers and fathers, teachers, business leaders, social workers and professionals of the next generation.

Kaydas to lend additional support to sustainable operation
Ama Ghar, which was founded in 2001, moved to a new home in 2011 that can house up to 75 children. To save money and avoid the power outages that are endemic in Nepal, the entire facility operates off the grid, generating its own power through solar energy and innovative waste management systems that recycle materials into fertilizers and cooking fuel. As part of its 2,000 Bulb Challenge for the Children, Kaydas will donate LED light bulbs to replace all existing A19 bulbs in the Ama Ghar house, once 2,000 bulbs are sold on behalf of Ama Foundation; this will further enhance the Ama Ghar homes commitment to sustainable solutions.

Akshay Gupta, Kaydas Founder, states, We love what Ama Foundation stands for and the work that they do. Its a pleasure to assist them and be associated with their tremendous cause. Our goal as a company is to not only build a profitable business, but to engage organizations like Ama Foundation, and make supporting them an integral part of how we do business.

Rob Sanders, Board Chair of Ama Foundation, said We think the Kaydas Fundraising Program presents a tremendous opportunity for driving our continuous fundraising efforts. Ama Foundation is proud to offer LED Lighting solutions to our donors as a means of supporting our organization. Its a win-win because it provides funds for healthy meals and education for our children and helps our donors to consume less energy and enjoy the cost benefits that result from LED lighting technology.

About Kaydas
Kaydas is a company with a deep passion for, and belief in, the environmental and economic benefits of Sustainability consuming less, consuming wisely and minimizing waste. Yet, contrary to popular belief, sustainability is not a call to live some sort of alternative lifestyle. Its really as simple as changing a light bulb. LED lighting is all about consuming less energy, and subsequently paying for less energy, over the ultra-long life of LED bulbs. And unlike those so-called green CFL Bulbs, LED bulbs do not introduce toxic mercury into your home or business environments. Less energy consumption, lower power bills, less bulbs in our landfills and eliminating the toxic technology of CFL bulbs yeah, its as simple as changing a light bulb.

About Ama Foundation
The Ama Foundation is a grassroots US-based 501(c) (3) non-profit organization dedicated to providing the most underprivileged children of Nepal with a loving home and education, helping them to become good global citizens as well as productive members of their own community in Nepal.
